It’s hard to believe that I’ve had this here blog up and running for one whole month! Thank you so much for reading. Yesterday I hit 600 all-time views, and knowing people are actually looking at this helps to keep me motivated. Today is my brother- and sister-in-law’s joint birthday party (their birthdays are 2 days apart), so my husband and I are headed there for their third annual Sexist Grill-Off. The men compete to create the most popular grilled dish and the women compete in appetizers, sides, drinks, and dessert. We are going to be headed there a bit later on, so I am entering a drink. This is a delightful summer drink and a refreshing version of sangria (even more so than the regular version)! My dear friend and fellow teacher taught me this recipe last weekend, so thanks, MF!
In honor of our one month bloggiversary, cheers with a glass of this delightful summer libation!

1 bottle of red wine (cheap!) that would be good for sangria; I used Charles Shaw Merlot
1 bottle of lemon soda (there’s a great version available at Trader Joe’s)
1 navel orange, sliced
2 lemons, sliced
2 limes, sliced
In a large pitcher, place the sliced fruit at the bottom then pour the bottle of red wine over the fruit. If you have time, put the wine and fruit combo in the fridge for a while to let the flavors mingle.
Add the bottle of lemon soda next. (Before making, make sure that your pitcher is big enough or adjust the volume of wine so you will still have a 1:1 ratio.) When serving, pour into a large wine glass with ice and a slice of each citrus fruit. Enjoy!
